Sticks uses "willful speciation" to mean chosen genetic modification. In this envisioned future, Sticks states that racism will not exist, and freedom, individual goals, and creative expression guide these choices. These are stated premises of the Lattice Age scenario. Earlier positions and dates remain intact. What is already possible. Gene editing changes DNA, the biological instructions in living cells.
